Missions: Fog of War through The Embassy

These are the achievements that I have earned so far during the campaign. I attempted them while playing on Veteran difficulty making them a little harder to get. Playing on Veteran or Realism Difficulty will also earn you an achievement once you beat the campaign. Difficulty ratings are based on playing campaign on Veteran and may be easier if tried on lower difficulty settings.

Fog of War: Nothing but Net

  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • After bombing the factory in this mission, you need to breach into an open area that has enemy personnel as well as an MG nest overlooking the area. You can distract the MG by shooting at it but you’ll need to clear the soldiers in and around the train cars. After this you are able to pretty much post up in a small room near the MG nest that has an unlimited supply of grenades for use. Remember to suppress the MG before attempting to through the grenade.

Piccadilly: Trigger Discipline and Circus Tour

  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • After the chaos that ensues after a terror attack this achievement required several play-throughs to get. You will get someone on your team that will call you out for injuring civilians and this is when you know to restart the mission. Thankfully the mission is not that long from start to finish and the enemy movements are the same through each try. Be warned though, the clothing store and subways have enemies as well but you don’t necessarily need to go in them to get this achievement.
  • Difficulty: -/-
  • Circus Tour achievement is attainable in this mission but I was not able to get it while attempting the previous achievement. May take multiple tries.

Embedded: Play Dead and Companion Block

  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Upon entering the field of dead bodies, enemy soldiers will not come out until you walk up to a certain point. After triggering the enemy soldiers, I immediately hid behind the truck. You will need to kill all the soldiers that you see that walk by. I was able to do so with the help of an AK-47  that I picked up earlier in the mission. Once the enemies walk past you, you can pop up and take them down while your NPC teammate can take care of the rest. You may need to use a second weapon as happened to me. Keep in mind, that there is a point where the soldiers cannot be shot at once they walk by you and if that is the case you will need to reload the checkpoint
  • Difficulty 1/5
  • Compared to the other achievements, this one is not hard to get but only if you can tell your block apart from the other blocks in the level. You will need it to blend in with the other townspeople at least two times. However, there might be a portion of the mission where carrying the block will make it difficult for you to survive an enemy attack. You can place the block down ahead of time at the escape location so you are a little more mobile.

Proxy War: Long Way Down, Wild Fire, and Ashes to Ashes

  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • After storming the Russian airbase, you are presented your first opportunity to take down a helicopter as they are seen dropping of enemies into the fight. I attempted it with a dragunov sniper rifle but you can try with any number of automatic weapons as well. Surprisingly, it was not that difficult and I managed to do it on the first try.
  • Difficulty 3/5
  • The opportunity to throw a Molotov at a flying helicopter represents itself when you reach and clear the first armory located on the base. Although the armory does not contain any molotovs, Hadir has some on his backpack allowing you to resupply. When you move on from the armory and force open a gate, an enemy helicopter begins their strafing run. The helicopter is low enough for you to place a well timed Molotov through the front windshield. This achievement took me several attempts to get the timing and angle right on the throw but fortunately the last checkpoint brings you back to where the helicopter starts its run.
  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • I did not get this achievement during my first play through of the campaign but while revisiting the mission, on Recruit difficulty, I gave it another shot. Even at the lowest difficulty it was still a pain in the butt. You will definitely need to get into a position where you can throw a molotov at one of the reinforcement vehicles. This is the only practical part during this mission to get four people at once with a single molotov.

Clean House: Wall Hax and Golden Path

  • Difficulty: 1/5
  • The opportunity to get this achievement happens after you clear the second and third floor of the building. The other two members of your team, that are not Captain Price, take the lead and walk by a door that is closed on that floor. Before they walk in front of the door, you can stay on the stairs and aim directly at the door and unload a barrage of bullets because the enemy will be standing right behind it. This strategy will not help you get the Clean House achievement.
  • Difficulty: 5/5
  • This achievement is damn near impossible and the hardest one to earn so far with less than 1% of xbox players able to get it. Not only are you expected to not get hit by any enemy fire, you are also supposed to hit each enemy with one bullet only, not miss any shots, and in my experience no 2 for 1s either. This achievement is very strict with its rules because In the nearly 12-15 attempts there were at least two occasions where I thought I had earned it but still failed to get it. The mission is not long, thankfully making a mission restart less of a headache and enemy patterns are the same through each run unless you do something different.

Hunting Party: Press [BOOM] to Defuse and Good Effect on Target

  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Throughout this mission, I would say there are a total of 5-6 tripwires for you to defuse. You are armed with grenades and and M4 with a grenade launcher under-barrel attachment. Although I didn’t use the grenade launcher, this would probably be the best way to defuse the tripwires. Just remember that the grenade needs to travel a certain distance for it to explode on impact. If you attempt this achievement by throwing grenades, you can cook the grenades to make it easier. Keep in mind that the grenades tend to bounce a lot and may not explode close enough to the tripwire to set it off. You can resupply grenades off of fallen enemies if you are to run out.

  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • I attempted to get this achievement during a second play through on recruit difficulty thinking it was going to be a piece of cake. I was pretty wrong. The smoke grenades do nothing to a healthy enemy or an enemy with a couple of rounds in them. The way I was able to get it was to wait for an enemy that was in last stand, pretty much on their back with a pistol out. If you need more smoke grenades SGT. Griggs has some to resupply from but I definitely suggest playing on a lower difficulty because you will not live long enough while trying to get it.

The Embassy: Love from Above

  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Towards the end of the mission after beating back enemies in the field from the rooftops, you are given the opportunity to call in drone strikes on the vehicles that come to attack you. Fortunately you can use as many rockets from the drone to accomplish this mission. Though there are two factors that make this achievement kind of hard to get. The first being the delay between calling in the strike and its impact. The vehicles are moving and therefore you’ll need to aim in front of the vehicle with enough time for the strike to arrive. The second factor is simply the fact that the drone has a reload period where you’ll need to wait to call them in again.
