Jackie and I wanted to do something special for our birthday weekend since we had not been able to do much in the last 8 months, though we did think about cancelling our plans. We decided to follow through and headed to South Beach where we stayed at the Sagamore Hotel located on Collins Avenue between 16th and 17th street. After arriving, we noticed the crowds were sparse, which was good for us.
The weather was also a bit rainy for a couple days but on the third day we were able to hit the beach, something we had not done in a long time. This was Tristan’s first time going to the beach and staying someplace that wasn’t home and I have to say he handled it very well. We had the grandparents come over to visit as well and had a nice little party. I think they enjoyed being with their first grandson.
Although I was a bit paranoid about staying somewhere public at first, the weekend was very relaxing and provided us with a much needed break from our usual routine.
