It had been a while since my fiancé and I had gone to the farmers market at Pinecrest Gardens. We decided to make the trip not only for the food but to enjoy some time together as a couple seeing as we are pulling parental duties now. At the market, we ordered our typical gyro meals and açaí bowls and proceeded towards the gardens. This wasn’t the first time we have been inside the garden as we had visited during Mother’s Day of 2018. Once inside you’ll notice the gardens are separated into two distinct portions with one area having a tropical vibe while the other is wide open.
The tropical side features high canopies and dense vegetation. You will also notice a sinkhole and a small waterway that is home to koi and a few turtles. Meanwhile the open area has a desert feel with cacti in full force as well as a large lake that is home to beautiful swans. For those with kids, they also have plenty of options to keep them entertained. You can find a playground, a petting zoo, and a splash and play zone where the kiddies can stay cool during the hot days in Miami.
While the gardens are relatively small, they still offer a serene experience. There is nothing like spending time in nature and spending that time with someone you love. I definitely think this spot is a must see for anyone in the area.
